Nairobi is the capital and largest city in Kenya. The name Neirobi translates to "the place of cool waters", but the city is also popularly known as the "green city in the sun". Founded in 1899, Nairobi is now one of the most prominent financial and political cities in Africa. It is also the most populous city in East Africa with an estimated population of about 3 million.

Nairobi is a cosmopolitan and multicultural city with a number of churches, mosques, temples and gurdwaras within the city. One of the city's main visitor attractions is the Nairobi National Park, a game reserve bordering the city that is home to many animals including lions and giraffes.
